this is a antique opal and ruby necklace charm, my mother gave it to me 15 years ago and it has never tarnished or turned my neck green so i have no idea if it is gold plated or not. i am highly allergic to other medals that are not gold or plated and i never once broke out wearing this. when my mother gave it to me she said she got it from her aunt a long time ago. also no refunds or buyers remorse what you see and bid on is what you get, it has been in a jewlry box for the last 5 years. i am a trusted seller so good luck to all who bid :-)
