The listing, 1944 One Centavo Fillapinas Coin has ended.
This auction is for a United Sates of America One Centavo Fillipinas coin. Once again I got this coin from a friend of mine that was in the Merchant Marines during WWII and traveled all over the world. So, get your bidding shoes on and lets get an auction going here. I have several other coins I'll be listing later on so keep checking back. This coin actually shows as being worth a little more than most of the others I've listed except the Liberty Head Coronet, so I set the starting bid a little higher.
Answer found on: http://www.collectors-society.com/JournalDetail.aspx?JournalEntryID=10706 The 1944-S USA/Philippine One Centavo was made from salvaged shell casings. Since this wartime alloy used no Tin the resulting coins were actually Brass rather than Bronze. This is an S mint coin.
