The only way I would suggest sizing down ANY ring is by using a ring spacer as my gold wedding set was ruined by sizing it down. Where they had put it back together on the bottom it ended up looking silver in that area and I paid over 600.00 for my set =( But people still do it and some turn out ok and some don't, it might just depend on where you take it.
