I have been been sewing for over 45 years, I have no clue what brand. I am switching to metal, gradually as the thread wears out. Just preference-doesn't mean they are not working. I have 50+ bobbins, and 3 sewing machines.
where? do you mind telling me your name? I've lived here 35 years, 3 different homes. I have a 33 yo and 30 yo, both born here and graduated here. They both are in Baltimore, Maryland with there families.
My name is Jennifer, I lived on Sarazen Ave just off of Eagle Creek in a townhome there. We only lived there for a couple years as it was too far for my husband to drive to work, he worked in Brooklyn Center. My husband is from MN, I've lived there since 1972, now we are in San Antonio, been here almost a year. Sure don't miss the snow, you guy's are getting blasted with that this year, I thought last year was bad..lol
I know where you lived! We lived in the Gorman Apts until we found a house on 3rd Ave. After 7 years we moved out to Englehaven, on Marystown Road where we built a home. We love it. I'm sure we will move to East coast to be by both kids. My parents are still alive, dads in bad health. Mom will move with us too eventually she is healthier than me.
I have 3, but I would like an antique black one that works. I learned on the treadle/non electric one. I spent the summer with her after third grade, she had a massive stroke and died within days of my leaving. She taught me sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery. I made my first suit in 4th grade. I got a scholarship to go to a University that at the time was the best in Home Economics, I focused on Fabric and Designing. I choose not to work in this field because it was my love, my passion I didnt want to burn out. I worked 30 years in Dentistry and it qualified me for Social Security Disability 1 year later. I had a hit and run 20 years ago and I just couldnt keep up with my job. Now i sew when I can, knit and crochet. i love to make baby stuff, I waited a long time to be a grandma, and then my daughter had twins, boy and girl! I hit the jackpot! I love them dearly and now they are my official testers when I have new baby items. They are 2 years old. I qualified for SS at age 54 because of my disibilities.
