Can you tell me the measurements of this piece? Is there some kind of rhinestone or marcasite around the outer edge?

It is one inch in length and 3/4 of an inch wide. It has some type of black stones around the outer edge as well as in the center. It is a beautiful piece, I just don't wear jewelry much, so I would like to pass it on to someone that can truly appreciate it.
