This SAMURAI SWORD LETTER OPENER was never used for its intended purpose. It was just something my husband thought looked cool on his desk bc he likes swords, skulls, action figures, etc ... It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION (there's no tarnish or anything on the blade, it's just a reflection from the camera flash in the pic). The stainless steel blade is sharp enough to open a letter but not sharp enough to cut skin or anything else & the point of the blade is blunt. It's between 7 & 8 inches long when it is sheathed & the blade itself is about 5 & a half to 6 inches long (Sorry ... I'm terrible at measurements by eye). I don't know where he purchased this or what materials the outer sheath is made out of. It may or may not be hand painted. It's just a cool looking little Samurai Sword & if you're into stuff like this item, like my hubby, then I think you'd enjoy having this displayed somewhere in your home or office :).
