What exactly does this do?

im not the seller but i can answer that. its an adapter that can slide into some of the smaller ipods and maybe iphones that allow you to use the newer ones on the docking things. like my gen 7 ipod nano has the sm thin metal part. i can not use it on my ipod docking radio coz the metal part it sits on is long. hope that meaks sense and helps.

i think i can answer that for you too. i think it would only charge if you had it pluged into a docking thing like the stereo i mentioned above. i do not blv it would charge on its own wo being hooked into something else. the ipod or the phone sits on top of the pins and then you set the whole thing onto your docking w/e. hope that helps
