The listing, ***10 Osage Orange***Tree Seeds Hedge Apple~"bois d'arc" (Bo Darc) Its known by many different names has ended.

10 Tree seeds.

The Osage orange tree, Maclura pomifera, is a member of the Mulberry family and native to an area of the central U.S. that includes parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The Osage orange tree is dioecious,

The Osage Indians used Osage orange wood to build bows. This common use led French settlers to call the tree "bois d'arc" meaning "wood of the bow". The Osage orange is still considered by many to be the finest wood for bow-making, and one of the most durable woods available. It makes beautiful turned bowls, instruments, fence posts, implement handles, furniture, etc....

The fruit is approximately the size of a softball. The tree can grow to 60 feet tall. It is very dense and makes excellent firewood burning very hot, comparable to a coal fire.

The fruit is also sold as insect repellant. I've been told to 'hide' hedge balls under furniture, behind couches. Keeps out roaches and spiders.

I've heard of the repellant properties before. Good info, thanks.
