This is a USB 2.0 Slim portable optical drive never used it don't know why. It comes with everything to install (manuals, 2 USB cables, and an Installation CD).

I don't know what is an optnal drive just what what i i see on on the the writing and is a aUSB 2,0 gb]

stephensanders3 its for reading cd rom - cd disc for laptops pc that don't have disc drive it dose not have memory on it just reads disc I have one but reads cds dvd and burns them great if don't have disc drive like my mini laptop best to use ac power usb hub with them so they run better and don't drain your bat' as fast

its an external dvd drive and usb 2.0 means version 2.0 is supported as for high speed now we have usb 3.0

Thank you Timo6 and Jude1369 for explaining better than I did lol. I am not really good with hardware I got this as a present like 2 years ago and found it and not going to use it ever so that is why I put it up for grabs.
