Is this a really big ring or is it just a medium size when it's on a finger?

In my opinion it's more medium; in that it's wide but light because of the filigree work, and is low profile on your hand. I have some fire topaz that looks medium, but with it's solid, heavy band and large stone that comes up really high off the finger-- that is more of a large (that's my rationale in comparing the two and calling this a 'medium') :P Hope that helps!
