The listing, 1973 Topps CHRIS CHAMBLISS (Indians) ERROR 1971 Rookie of the Year has ended.
This is a 1973 Topps #11 CHRIS CHAMBLISS baseball card.
The card is a known error (his hometown of Encinitas, CA is incorrectly spelled "Encinidas"); he error was not corrected in subsequent printings, making this a UER (uncorrected error) card..
A fantastic and underrated player, Chambliss won the 1971 Rookie of the Year award with the Indians, but is probably best known for his tenure with the New York Yankees. Chambliss earned his only All Star berth and played in 3 World Series with the Yankees, winning rings in 1977 and 1978. Over a 17 year career (16 qualifying), Chambliss accrued over 2100 hits and drove in nearly 1000 runs, as well as winning a Gold Glove in 1978.
Card is in nice shape, check out the pictures.
