Well, I just don't have room in my studio for two of these. Since I upgraded to a newer model, I want to find a really good home for this one. I love these devices!

Will this work with SVG files?

With ONLY what you have here, no--the CraftRobo-based software that comes with the Silhouette SD doesn't open .SVG format. But if you upgrade to the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software, you'll be able to open and cut files with this format. The software costs about $33 at this writing.

are there any cartridges with it? or it only prints what you have on your computer?

This is not a model that uses cartridges. Instead, you use the software on your computer – you download it for free from the silhouette site – to create shapes, or make letters for what you want to cut.

I just started up the silhouette SD, and it is working beautifully. See the photos above, to see the software in action, and to see the device cutting.

Not really sure ... but I believe so. I've used it on paper, cardstock and fabric.

I believe so. I know that silhouette sells vinyl, but I personally have never tried it.
