Listia charges WAY more per dollar than the going rate for selling gift cards here on the site is. They don't intend you to buy the full amount from them, but rather if you're short a few credits to bid on a listing, you can get them at a premium from them.

Giftcards on Listia sell for as high as 7,777 credits per dollar. These are often being bought by people who sell things they have that they no longer need that they probably wouldn't be able to get cash for or they don't want to ebay or yardsale. In return they use the credits for giftcards. Rates vary from seller to seller based on what they offer and convenience. GIN rates are usually higher because you get the card when YOU want it, rather than waiting 10 or 21 days for the listing to end and hoping someone doesn't snipe it out from under you at the last second. Sellers can charge what they see fit. I have plenty of buyers at this price - many of them repeat customers who come back to me again and again because they know that I will send them their gift card ASAP rather than keeping them hanging for days. For some people, that is worth the premium cost. My regular buyers all know they can message me and see if I'm online before using GIN - if I am, they'll usually get the card within minutes of end of listing. On the flip side, I've bought cards from people that it took 7 days to get and they didn't send the code until I filed a dispute, with my credits tied up for the entire time. Which would you prefer? Spending 7 days waiting wondering if you'll get your card or not, or spending a little more and getting it from a reliable seller who will send you the card immediately?
