It is a Self/Hand Wind. No Battery required. Easy to find out if it works or not. Simply try to Wind the Crown Clockwise. Wind it 5 or 6 Times, to see if the Second Hand Runs, then Set the Time, and see if it Works.
If the Stem/Crown Does Not Turn, then it is Frozen {Mainspring Snapped}. Hope this helps, and U do Well.
