Description
The listing, old cloth Catholic Religious Relics has ended.
I don't know much at all about these. I found them in an old sewing machine from 1898. The string is worn and yellowed. They are conected. I sure the right person out there will know what they are. Happy bidding!
Questions & Comments
These are called scapulors (not sure of the spelling). I received mine when I made my first communion and are worn arounbd your neck under your shirt.
Yes they are scaplars! from thre Catholic religion, this one in particular tells the world that the person wearing it is devoted to Our Lady Of Mount Carmel they are to be worn with one end hanging down towards the breast, over a shoulder and the other end hanging down the back.. sometimes people would wear them while ill , or they would be giving to a person dying, etc.. and yes in a way they are a prayer cloth! Nice example you have here.. :-) Have a great auction! :-)
