The listing, 2 Forever "Civil War" Commemoratives has ended.
Issued in 2011 to commemorate the 150th anniversity of the War for Southern Independence. The southern states were heavily outnumbered in the Congress and the northern states were able to control the economy with tariffs. Seven states seceded and formed the Confederate States of America when Lincoln was elected. When Lincoln took office, he ordered the resupply of the Federal fort in Charleston harbor. In a “Cuban Missile Crisis” situation like 1962, Fort Sumter was attacked and defeated in April 1861. The federal armies invaded in July 1861 and were defeated. The USPS version is more PC. The sheet will be folded and mailed in a long envelope. 2 large "forever stamps" are included.
