The listing, Vintage Hand-Painted Russian Brooch Castle Horse Signed has ended.
Up for consideration is a lovely hand-painted Russian brooch probably from the 1970s. The brooch is bright and colorful and features a young man, horse and a castle in the background. It is very colorful and it is in excellent condition. The brooch is signed by artist Kohek Topeyhok. It measures 3 3/8" wide by 2 1/2" high. It has a safety pin clasp.

Questions & Comments
Hi. Addition and correction to 1st comment. This is Russian folk Art named PALEKH. Hand painted wood and lacquered. The other words are KONEK GORBUNOK - "The Little Humpbacked Horse" - watch NETFLIX "MASHA's TALES"- short version of this fairytale - episode1. It is signed by artist with name GUSEV. Thank you.
Wow, thanks for all the info! I have tried very hard to decipher the words on the brooch, but I just wasn't able to do it. I will definitely watch "Masha's Tales" on Netflix--I'll wait until my daughter is home from school because she will want to watch it too. Thanks again, I really appreciate your help!
The horse and boy seem to be a constant in this artist's brooches. You would know this was a Russian piece easily. I have collected a few from different artists.
