Description

The listing, Vintage thread has ended.

I've listed so many threads and yarns lately that my mom has given to me... I can't remember what type this is. It's very old- and has been in my mom's sewing/crafts room for at least 25 years. Hasn't been used!

Winner pays exact shipping if bidding on this item only. (unless paying with paypal- then it will be an additional .50 to cover the transaction fees)

Shipping option: I've been doing something a bit different that I'm calling "build a box." Basically all it is is combined shipping on multiple auctions. I realize it's usually not worth the shipping price for just one of my auctions (although there are many exceptions) but it is certainly worth it if you can find enough items you like to fill a flat rate shipping package. I typically have 90+ auctions going at any given time.

You just need to let me know what size box you'd like (prices are below and are exact shipping.) I'll then actually build the specified flat rate box and put your profile name on it. When you win one of my auctions I will put that item into your box. If I don't hear from you I'll let you know when you're close to being full and again when your box is completely full. Once you pay for shipping I do my best to get your box shipped the next day.

I accept cash and postage stamps. I also accept paypal but it's an additional .50 to cover the transaction fees.

Flat rate envelope: $5.75
Small flat rate box: $6.00
Medium flat rate box: $11.75
Large Flat rate box: $15.70
All shipping includes DCN (tracking number)

What it looks like is crochet cotton size 10, used for doilies, bedspreads, etc. hope this helps you... :)

Thank you so much! That makes a lot of sense because my mom crocheted the edgings of our sheets when we were kids. :) :) That was very nice of you! I appreciate that. :)

I am so sorry but I don't know what a skein is. My mom is the craft person... we're cleaning her sewing room out- will it say on the little label???

I have this one up right now but I will have more listed soon. Probably not until next week though because they are my mom's and I won't be able to get back over to her house until early next week. She has a bunch of this type of thread as well as some yarn that she is giving me to list. :)
Thank you for checking out my auction! :)

(btw: the build a box thing that I am doing would work well for the yarns and threads... if someone wanted to bid on multiple auctions and combine shipping. You don't have to do a flat rate box- I will ALWAYS do my best to figure out the cheapest shipping rate. And I imagine for yarn and thready it will probably be parcel post or perhaps first class.)

The little packets of embroidery thread are also called skeins.
Now you know. :-)

I like your 'build a box' idea! Mind if I steal it for my future auctions? Also I like that thread. I believe that mainelynn2 is right in her estimate of that thread. Also what you have there is a ball, not a skein, a skein usually refers to a hank of yarn, embroidery floss or thread. Pretty much as Forgetfulfreda explained.

THANK you so much for stopping by! :) I appreciate your info... it's a lot of lingo I don't understand. :)
AND OF COURSE you can do the build a box thing!
It has been GREAT fun and the people that are doing this with me or have done this with me have seemed to enjoy it as well. :) PLUS I don't feel terrible about charging shipping! :) :)

There you go mainelynn, that is what I wanted to know! Allison, a skein is what the individual ball of yarn or crochet thread is called.
