The listing, 2 Antique Victorian CDV Photos Young Women with Funky Hair Interesting Inscription on Back has ended.
Up for consideration are two Victorian-era cartes de visite photographs also known as CDVs. A CDV is a photo that is sized 2 3/8" x 4 1/4". I chose to list these particular CDVs together because each young lady is sporting an interesting hairdo.
The first photo is of a woman with several different styles: curly on top, swept back on the sides, a large braid in the back that tapers into a ringlet. I guess she couldn't make up her mind on one style!
The second photo has a young lady with tightly-curled ringlets. It also has an interesting inscription on the back--I don't know quite what to think of it.
"This was your darling first twenty years ago. Look at her as she was and then look at her as she now is. Egad! What a change has come over the gal of your youth! ?? ask yourself the question "Do I love you Mollie, darling, are you all the world to me?"
I've never ready anything on a photo quite like that. This photo dates from 1864-1869. The other photo is from the 1870s-80s. Two great Victorian photos in good condition with some light soiling.
