PLEASE READ____NOTES_____INFORMATION______
Arnica Oil, Arnica montana, and pain relief was studied, by UMMC, on patients suffering from mild, to moderate, Osteoarthritis. In those that applied a Arnica Gel, to the affected area, twice daily, a significant reduction in pain, and increased function, was seen after only three weeks of use. "Rheumatology International" found that comparable results were obtained using an Ibuprofen, vs. Arnica, gel, in a study treating Osteoarthritis of the hands.
Arnica Oil, Arnica montana, and inflammation was studied, also by UMMC, which concluded that topical Arnica was effective in treating bruises, insect bites, and other inflammatory, and swelling, conditions such as post operative, sprains, and fractures indicating its effectiveness in topical application as an anti-inflammatory.
Arnica Oil, Arnica montana, has a long history of use in inflammatory, and damaged, skin conditions where the healing is improved through increased circulation, and anti-bacterial activity. Arnica is even used in herbal treatments for dandruff.
What does arnica do?
Native Americans used arnica in ointments and tinctures; a salve made with arnica helped relax stiff or sore muscles and the tincture was used in treating wounds.
Arnica is still used externally in healing liniments, salves, arnica gel or cream for bruising, to ease pain and inflammation of bruises, sprains and wounds.
