The listing, Lot of (3) Vintage Reds cards: 1963 Jerry Lynch, 1964 Al Worthington, 1966 Don Heffner has ended.
This is a lot of 4 vintage 1960s Topps Cincinnati Reds baseball cards.
1963 Topps #37 JERRY LYNCH
1964 Topps #144 AL WORTHINGTON
1966 Topps #269 DON HEFFNER
The players:
-A big bat, Lynch had a 1.031 OPS in only 96 games in 1961, prompting voters to throw him some MVP votes. He had a career .832 OPS in 13 seasons, 7 with the Reds. He retired with the all-time record for most pinch-hit homers.
-Al Worthington stank for 7 seasons before joining the Reds, where he became one of the league's best closers. Between the Reds and Twins, he saved 10 or more games 7 years straight, including a league-leading 18 in 1968 and 21 in 1965 (there were fewer saves in those days).
-A former teammate of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, Heffner won a World Series ring with the 1936 Yankees and played 11 seasons in MLB. He managed briefly, with the 1966 Reds, compiling a 37-46 before getting canned in favor of Dave Bristol.
