The listing, Interesting garment: India/Pakistan Dupatta, scarf, sash - gorgeous and unique! has ended.

I came across this beauty yesterday; I did a little research and came to the conclusion that this is a traditional garment worn in India and Pakistan called a Dupatta. It is like a scarf or sash. What you see is actually quite long and is folded into quarters because I couldn't photograph it all laid out and still capture detail.
It is made of many strips of cloth, sewn together at the middle, rather than the edges, so that the edges are "flappy." It's very colorful and beautiful! I thought someone here would love it!! It might even make a unique table runner if you don't want to wear it. It was so pretty that it screamed at me from the thrift store bin!
