The listing, AS SEEN ON TV cold heat soldering iron has ended.
The Cold Heat soldering iron was on the tv I think about 3 years ago. This one still works, I just tested it. It takes 4 AA battery's This is good for jewelry and craft work. But this iron should not be used for working on any electronic unit. The voltage across and current through the tip can damage electronic circuits being soldered. When not in contact with a joint, the split tip has 6 or more volts across it, enough to destroy semiconductor p-n junctions on contact if the iron accidentally touches multiple closely spaced pads. This is not static-electricity damage; any voltage over about 0.7V is capable of delivering high current that can destroy a semiconductor junction.
