This is a Canadian 10 Cent coin. From 1870, when they were first minted, until 1919 they were made of Sterling Silver (92.5% silver). From 1920 to 1967 they were made of 80% Silver. From 1968 forward they are made of 100% nickel, until the mint began using nickel plated steel in 1999.
