100 Premium Heirloom Hollyhock seeds AND (first time I've decided to share these special seeds!) 3 Hawthorn Tree seeds.

Both the Hollyhock and Hawthorn (or "May Apple") are well established in folk medicine, and are lovely and easy additions to your garden. The University of Maryland is doing serious research (and getting some remarkable findings!) regarding the medicinal use of hawthorn (May Apple, Heart Thorn) for heart issues. It has been used for that purpose since the 1st Century.

Hollyhocks are widely used for tea (made from the flowers) which, it is said, helps soothe inflammation in the mouth and throat. A fomentation or vapor bath of the tea may be helpful for earache. A poultice applied to wasp or bee stings, or to draw out thorns, and splinters. Hollyhock flowers are used as an ingredient in various cosmetics.

The fresh flowers of the hollyhock were considered a culinary delicacy in old China. The dried flowers were much used as a tea by women in England and New England settlements where every household had its stand of hollyhocks.
