Questions & Comments

Sorry, but some ridiculous comments being made in the comments section of this auction are being hidden, and the commenters are being blocked. I reserve the right to remove comments that contain links to other auctions, comments that make misinformed inferences about "what I paid" for these coins, etc. (which no one knows but me, and I certainly did not obtain them at below wholesale prices), or when people make ridiculous GIN offers, etc. If you are going to comment, please use some common sense, and research what is offered for sale and either bid or don't. I am starting to understand why some sellers put out so many disclaimers on their auctions. Some Listians think they have the right to put anything they want in other people's comment spaces and these are MY comment spaces. Thanks to the majority of Listians who do not engage in such behavior.

Another thing you can do is to send me a message, rather than just posting anything out here. I am happy to go watch your auction, perhaps bid on your auction, perhaps fan you, or simply answer your question. But this comment section is not the place for you to speculate about what I paid for the nickels, or to offer insulting GIN amounts, or to put in links to your own auctions. Thank you.

I'm going to try and start taking some pictures of the individual nickels today/tomorrow/Tuesday, etc. so you can see both obverse and reverse. So that could amount to 58 pictures if I get them all done.

If I do this, I will start with the 1916, and move on through the album of coins up to the 1938-D and the dateless raised ground 1913.

Absolutely! Michael thank you for all your comments and insights and conversation! I wish you and your family all the very best. I really hope you enjoy Myrtle Beach. Sometime, maybe we can meet. Are you originally from Pickens County? I am not a native to South Carolina, but we moved here when my dad (a native of Louisiana) retired from the USAF. He was a navigator in the Korean War and then went on to teach ROTC at LSU until the early 1970's with many assignments inbetween. Then he taught JROTC at the high school for about 7 years. I attended 9 schools in 12 years to finish high school, so I don't really know where I am from! I was born in Texas, my sister in Georgia, my other sister in Virginia, and my brother in Alabama. My mom, a native South Carolinian, said she was not going with my father to Mississippi, Tennessee, or North Carolina, LOL!

My hat is off to you for serving our country and being wounded and injured. Our military does so much and for the most part, we take it for granted. I also have DDD with 5 herniations and have to have a special chair to sit here and type in front of a computer and see an anesthesiologist on a regular basis for epidurals and medications.

Very true. I wanted to be a musician, but my father thought that was too "sissy" (I played French Horn and piano), so I ended up in computer science and then went into nutrition and then into public health. Now I am retired!

I'm sorry Corena, but I'm going to let the Listia marketplace set the final price with 29 buffalo heads involved w/just the 1916 going for $2.50, the 1920-D going for at least $3, on up to the 1938-D which goes for at least $2.25. The folder goes for about $4, plus there's shipping and tracking costs of at least $3.50 as well. I appreciate your offer, but cannot do it at this time.

The first five pictures show the coin folder for the buffalo nickels with the coins inside. The next 58 pictures show the obverses and reverses of the 29 nickels. Thank you for checking out my auction.
