The listing, 1828 Matron Hair Large Cent Large Narrow Date Version has ended.
For auction: an 1828 Matron Head large cent in Good+ condition. The large cent is not quite up to VG, because the legends are not totally clear on the reverse (most of UNITED is missing, and while OF AMERICA is present, it is slightly affected by merging with the rim). The coin does show wear, but looks pretty darn good for a 175-year-old coin! It feels quite solid. There is no evidence of porosity, pitting, or corrosion.
There is minimal damage to the coin. There is a tiny gouge or scratch near the first 1 in 1828. There is a rim ding at 7:00 on the obverse, and a minor rim dent at 5:00 on the reverse, but basically the outer rims are very good. There is a small stain on the Y in LIBERTY.
Only 2.2 million of these were minted in two versions. This is the large narrow date version (as opposed to the small wide date version). Far fewer of these are left than were actually minted, so this coin should continue to increase in value.
All Listia rules apply. No international shipping. The coin will be shipped with tracking, and in a 2x2 w/mylar protection.
