It's a Briar pipe. Briarwood makes an excellent material for carving pipes, as it has a beautiful grain and is highly resistant to fire and heat. Robert Downey Jr. smoked a Briar pipe in the Sherlock Holmes movies

stem is solid black.. and santini is the only writing I can see
