Description

The listing, 3 Holmes & Edwards "Silver Fashion" Pattern "Deep Silver" Slotted Spoon Serving Pieces ... LOOK! has ended.

For auction: 3 Holmes-Edwards "Deep Silver" slotted spoon serving pieces, all identical, weighing 2.4 oz. each. Each spoon is 8.25" long. These spoons are in the "Silver Fashion" pattern. ANY YELLOW IN THE PICTURES IS A RESULT OF MY PICTURE-TAKING & IS NOT PRESENT AS STAIN.

I have narrowed the date down on the spoons to between 1957-1962. "Deep Silver" as it is called, has "little blocks" or "thin bars" of sterling silver added to the points of wear that occur with silver plate. Their value is considered to be higher than basic silver plate, but not nearly the value of pure sterling silver.

Picture 1 shows the 3 spoons, which I number from the bottom spoon up, as Spoon #1, Spoon #2 in the middle, and Spoon #3 at the top.

Picture 2 show the spoons in the "downward" position, in the same order as in Picture 1.

Pictures 3, 4, and 5 show Spoon #1 up, down, & on the company's name area on the upper half of the back of the spoon, where it says HOLMES*EDWARDS IS DEEPSILVER. The IS is in a larger font.

Pictures 6, 7, and 8 show the same kind of pictures for Spoon #2. Spoon #2 has the 2nd cleanest area where the manufacturer's information is located compared to Spoon #1.

Pictures 9, 10, and 11 show the same kind of pictures for Spoon #3, which has the cleanest area where the manufacturer's name is located.

There are scratches on all the spoons, and some slight stains may be present when you receive them. I am working to remove as much stain as possible using standard silver polish w/a soft non-scratching sponge designed specifically to clean silver, but there may be some stain left.

All Listia rules apply. No international shipping. Shipping to verified addresses only. Spoons will be sent with tracking & wrapped individually. I will pay the cost of shipping, since that is my policy. The spoons will be shipped to the winner w/in 24 hrs of receiving a verified address, & will be shipped w/tracking.

Thank you for looking at this & my other auctions!

Thanks Deanna! But remember this not sterling, it is silverplate with additional sterling added in for fortification and protection of the sterling. I fanned you for visiting the auction!

they are silverplated with additional sterling added in on those areas prone to the most wear, so they are slightly worth more than basic silverplate, but nowhere near as much as sterling. thanks for asking! fanned.

Yes. I understand about Silver plate. I love my Antique and Vintage sets of serving pieces. Some are expensive and some are not so much. I love them all and use them when I can. Everyone in the house knows These are washed by hand with the soft cloth and Never Put in the Dish Washer. Thank you. Great Auction.

Deanna, thank you. We never use our silver; it just seems to get passed down through the generations! Same with the china. Seems like if you have it you should use it!

Sorry, I meant to say silverplate instead of sterling in the last word of the second sentence!

faqo_28, I'm sorry but I had to hide your comment because it is taking up too much space with all the graphics. I know you mean well, but it's too much. I will go ahead and fan you, and thank you for watching. Clint
