Description

The listing, BRAND NEW FURBY in BOX - Yellow - CHECK IT OUT! NO GIN! has ended.

Up for auction: a brand new Furby in box, never used, never removed from box. It is a Yellow Furby, but I don't know if it has a name. I just took 5 pictures of the sides of the box (and the bottom) to show it to you. A tuft of Furby yellow hair pops through the box in the first 4 pictures!

All Listia rules apply. No international shipping. Winning bidder must provide verified address for shipping. Shipping will be done within 24 hours of received verified address, and will include tracking and packing to preserve the box and the Furby.

Thank you for checking out this auction, and the others ones I have running also!

You didn't read the above. This belongs to a disabled friend whose disability is working its way through the system. I'm trying to help him out since he has no income, but plenty of bills. I don't know why he bought it other than he did buy it. I don't think he's alone in buying things and not using them. My mother buys clothes all the time and never wears them, so I don't understand that either. I don't know why my friend bought a lot of things he gave me to try and auction on Listia. I don't know much about anything that he gave me to auction off, but I'm learning about them. And I know that I'm trying to help a desperate person. Does that make it more understandable to you? Why do humans do HALF the things they do?

Hi Orangeburg!! Columbia again! The furbies came out in the 90's for a couple years or so then disappeared. Then version 2.0 new and improved digital version just came out around Christmas time I believe. If they came out before then I'm not aware of it but I guess it's possible. I still have one that survived the 90's. the new ones do a lot more and you can download an app to smartphone that can feed, and communicate with them. The new ones have different personalities and I was surprised to discover that they change personalities more than once! Lol! When I first started mine it was adorable and sounded like a baby, then became what I'd call a Japanese Valley Girl( too funny), now it growls at me and says no like a lot, it loves being help upside down, and burps and giggles when fed? So idk you quess! Lol! I don't know what comes next. I bought it because I loved the first one, wanted to see what the 2.0 would do, and because my son hated it! Lol! We parents have to get out kicks where we can! Lol! Next step is to watch two interact! Hope that helps! Weather here is hot and humid how about you? Lol!

Hi Okika! Yes, it's 88 and very humid 45 miles SE of you down I-26. Just "wonderful" weather, but at least we aren't in or near Oklahoma, poor souls with all those tornadoes, again!

Thanks so much for educating me further on Furbies. I have been trying to explain some of the Furby fervor to my octagenarian parents but they REALLY don't get it, LOL! But you make it sound like something I NEED!!! It might be fun to see our cat interact with it too! And maybe even amuse my aging parents. My mother especially needs a laugh! So you think they would interact since they would be accepting input from either other depending on the "artificial intelligence" they have loaded? Wow, too much!

Yes, they are supposed to be able to 'communicate in furbish and English. The app can help you decipher the furbish. The book says they can 'read' you if you are close enough so I guess a cat could technically 'communicate' with them too! Lol! They can 'feel' it if you move them, touch or pat the head, nose, and face. They either 'like' it or not. And you can feed them by putting your finger in their mouth or using the app, they like or dislike certain foods and combinations. The valley girl personality mine had loved to talk and say stuff like blah blah blah, the more you talked the more it 'she' would. The different personalities seem to have different voices too. It just depends on how silly you feel talking and playing with a toy! Lol! It's fun to see what it can do now though, and the head moves in different ways to show different 'emotions' that the old ones couldn't. When you leave it alone long enough they go to sleep. If you move them again though they will wake up! Your right, I'm glad we aren't having those tornados. I'm not looking forward to the July and August humidity and heat though. For those of you who don't live here, imagine wearing a heavy wet wool blanket in about 95-110 degree weather ( with the hear index). You take a shower walk outside and it's like being in a sauna and soaking in hot steam, I find it hard to breath. I always hated saunas! Lol! There are a lot of great things here but if it weren't for family, I wouldn't live here. I was in Florida for 3 years and loved it, it had the heat but not the humidity, and there was always a nice breeze from the water. Of course now they have hurricanes, there weren't any when I lived there. Lol! Good luck with the auction. I may be bidding if I can afford if! :-)

Nanette, if I were you I would delete some of those fans. Obviously, your "fans" aren't really fans if they don't watch your auctions or bid or do anything. I delete fans all the time, especially those who I decide just care about fans numbers and not my auctions. Some people just want to build fan numbers but not be true fans. I did look at your auctions, and unfortunately you do not have anything that I am looking for right now, but I wish you all the best, and thank you for watching. Clint

the only way i know to get substantial credits if you don't have them is to buy them via paypal, where for $40 you get 16000 credits. also, you can apply for a discover card (it costs you no credits to apply) and if you get approved the latest offering by Listia is 23800 credits. that's two things i did when i first started and wanted to buy something. good luck!

New to Listia. Could you tell me what GIN means? I just found out what F&W means. :)

Jun 3rd, 2013 at 8:54:41 PM PDT by

hi princess, welcome to listia. Listia does have its own terminology. GIN means Get It Now, where the Listia auctioneer/seller sets a fixed price option whereby you can either bid or get it now at the credit level specified for the GIN. supposedly, when the bid reaches a level that is over one-half of the GIN, the GIN goes away. I've seen this happen some of the time, but not all of the time. I would suggest that you go to "Listia help" to learn some more information about the site, and to watch the Listia video, which shows a few basic things. I could go on, but I have to leave for a doctor's appointment 45 miles away, and will be back mid-afternoon. If I can help you again, just send me a message rather than a comment. Again, welcome to Listia! Clint

Yes, Melissa, thank you. He is very disabled, but has some "Listia-able" items, more of which I plan to run. Most of his stuff are things I am unfamilar with, like this Furby. I already bought his coins and coin supplies, etc., but he's got action figures (and doesn't know their names, and neither do I), silverplate flatware, "Deep" Silver (I myself already have several slotted spoons and don't need the ones that are running!), sportscards, watches that need batteries (I'm going to get 1 battery and see how the best-looking watch does), a ton of Hot Wheels and other brand cars of that genre, and a bunch of other things that I would ordinarily never own or list myself since I focus totally on coins. But I take it as a learning experience, and I thank you for your comment, for which I will also fan you, if I haven't already! My elderly father didn't like me having all this stuff at the house until I explained to him what I was trying to do!! You be sure to have a terrific day! Clint
