Win 3 hens & chicks! you'll get at least one mother hen & two chicks; perfectly formed, ground-hugging rosettes of fleshy, red-tipped leaves; chicks come from way young plants form around the central "mother" plant. detach & replant young plants. full sun. sandy to average, well-drained soil. great for pots, over raised beds, rocks, walls, among stone walks. can grow dense, 3"-4" rosettes of 50 to 60 fleshy, red-tipped leaves! chicks or offsets are readily produced.

Love these and they grow fine in pots since I'm zone 2? Don't think they'd like -40...

no on the -40 degrees for sure. But they do great in pots. All of mine are in large pots and overflowing right now. Makes a good houseplant
