how does it work?? do you scrape the black thingy or rub a stick against it or wet the rod which could activate the magnesium rod?

it comes with a stricker u don't have to wet it the green metal has ridges on it that u push down the black stick which is the magnesium run it straight down with a 45 degree angle which creates a spark. Its so easy my 5 yr old boy and 8 yr old girl can set a cotton ball, and newspaper on fire. all you have to remember is that the better you angle it the better the spark. Its not a one time use you can use over, and over.
