When you receive the item you will notice that it comes straight from the manufacturer "LEMA" in Kazanlak (valley of roses between Kazanlak and Karlovo in Bulgaria!

It may be hard to believe, but of all the places in the world where roses are cultivated, there are just a handful of regions in 2 countries that provide just the right conditions to grow this incredible flower in large enough quantities to produce rose Otto essential oil! One such area is in Bulgaria, and the other is Turkey - and both are connected by history.

"Bulgarian Rose Oil (Rose Otto) is produced through Steam Distillation of fresh rose flowers. This rose oil is a 100% pure and a natural product that is used in creams, lotions and soaps for its mild anti-viral and bactericidal properties, as well as for its fragrance. Rose water, recovered from the distillation of rose oil, is mildly astringent and beneficial for cleansing and refreshing dry, sensitive skin.

I'm a Reiki master/teacher, aromatherapist and hypnotherapist and this oil mixed with some jojoba would be wonderful for massage. A tiny bit of this goes a long way. If you are going to mix with a lotion, be careful the lotion does not eat up the rose oil. Also, you may want to use a base lotion that isn't greasy. Jojoba is a thin wax, not an oil at all and it does not ruin easily, so you may want to try that. Performance and longer shelf life.

Great, if I win the auction I'll try w/Jojoba, thanks! I do mostly deep tissue and circulatory so I prefer non-greasy unsented massage lotion for best results but it's always nice to use oil in the winter for added moisterizing effects and great when you can warm it up first too. I like to blend oils in the winter that have warming effects. Found a great aromatherapy recipe once a long time ago in Massage magazine.

Rose water and rose oil is drying. If you are doing deep tissue, you can use lavender oils as it is highly relaxing and one that is safe. But rose in any form is astringent in nature. You may want to use avocado and jojoba, however the shelf life would change. Adding in vitamin E will help with nutrients make the skin more supple.

I roses - my house is decorated with roses in every room. I love the scent, too. I would love this rose oil, but how do I use it. Do I have to mix it with something. If so, what? (as you can tell, I'm a lay person)

It's genuine Bulgarian rose perfume oil ans you don't mix it with anything to wear. You open the vial and dab it where you want it. A tiny bit goes a long way.
