I do not think that it has a sim card, but not sure..It has a very good battery.

Itself? Not sure what you mean, but my son was using it as his phone, but now has an iPhone through another carrier..It powers up, I can see the pictures on the camera (which I will erase) and all the options seem to work. It worked fine for my son.
