The listing, VINTAGE INK BOTTLE has ended.
This bottle is from my picker days many years ago and was dug up probably close to 40 years ago. It is bell shaped and a Carter # 5 ink bottle. It stands 2 1/2 " tall and the base is 2 1/4 " wide. The rim of the top feels a little rough but, I don't see any chips. There is a scratch on the bottle as shown in pics # 6 and 7. I tried to center the scratch and right above it is a flea bite. No cracks just surface. This bottle I believe is from the late 1800's to early 1900's. I haven't removed all the residue from being buried because I think it just shows the age. The bottle was I'm told hand blown into a mold, and shows little air bubbles in the glass. The neck has two seams but, the bottle does not. That's it and happy bidding!
