That, and I have a lot of "weird machines" that don't take to that goofy software they use to "protect their content". I don't think it will work at all on Ubuntu ! :)

The disk might, but the "digital copy" won't !

Yeah they are making it harder and harder for our "weird machines" to work with today's software. Doesn't stop me from from working on ways to get around that. I get pretty determined to find a solution.

Yeah ... ya mean like plugging said outputs into a "Hauppage WInTV" and recording resulting TV signals? One of my friends does this already with nice results. :)

I'm not sure off hand what we use. I'd have to ask my husband. But, we have found various devices to use for those methods that have worked.

Thanks :) It's one of my favorites also. I bought season 5 on blu-ray combo pack. So it came with the blu-ray, dvd and digital code. I just auctioned off the dvds to it. I haven't even opened up the blu-ray for myself, I already seen it. But I like having it available to watch later if I really wanted too lol
