Lavatera is related to both hibiscus and hollyhock. It will grow to 3ft to 5ft. by the end of the summer. It branches vigorously to form a sturdy bush. The flowers, bourne in leaf axis, are 3" - 4" in diameter.

Lavatera can be used along pathways or walks or grow a row of them from the middle to the rear of a border bed. The pink and white colors mix well with most other flowers. They also make good cut flowers.

Sow directly in the garden where the plants will stay. It is difficult to successfully transplant.
