The listing, Antique Post Card With Love Poem has ended.
Hello everyone,
This is an old postcard, probably more than 100 years old, marked SB. Here's the story behind the mark:
Samson Brothers (1909-1919), New York, NY. A printer and publisher of artist drawn postcards that encompassed blacks, romance, greetings, holiday cards and humor. These tricolor cards were printed in the United States and were not known for their high quality.
This one has a poem and it has writing on the back that says "from Mary Mead to Mr. Carpenter".
The poem reads:
If a body write a body
And a body don't reply
Should a body write a body
To ask the reason why?
I think there was a little something going on between Mrs. Mead and Mr. Carpenter ;)
Thank you for viewing.
