Description

The listing, 128 gb flash drive... has ended.

128 gb gold bar flash drive. I have quick formatted this drive. I have did the long format on this drive. still I can only get about 5 gb of info on it before it times out. my neighbor used this and changed some settings in it somewhere and now it barely works. I showed the properties screen and the screen for when it fails. this drive comes with enough movies to cause the time out screen to appear. Fast n furious 6 ( 1.37 gb ) avi file , Man of Steel ( 1.68 gb ) avi file, Oz the great and powerful ( 1.36 gb ) mp4 file and the failed copy of Jack the Giant slayer ( 865 mb ) mp4 file. while copying the last movie , the last 5 seconds wont copy, then it sits on that screen for a while then the failed window appears. This drive is of no use to me now, maybe someone can fix this. the auction is for the flash drive, the movies are only on there to fill it up enough to get to the fail screen to appear. I will send it the way it is pictured in the pictures with the files the way it sits today. non smoking home with fast free shipping, and good luck.

After a little research on this product, i am 99..9 percent sure that this was a fake Knock off from china and the original capacity was hacked/faked and you got scammed. there is no way to fix it other then making it the capacity it was supposed to be most likely an 8 gig if that is even possible.

i appreciate everyones input on this flash drive, but for the last time i had 70 gb of movies loaded on this. its no fake capacity of hack drive or any of these, ive gotten alot of personal messages about fixing this drive and its frustratin how everyone is a master at flash drives and want me to do this then that. I would think that a computer person will win this and they can fix it and be happy

The reason why you can't fit more info on the drive is because its a fake capacity drive produced by china ... Google fake capacity drive I'm sure it will clear up the problems u are having

I had 70 gb of all movies on that drive before my neighbor used it and plugged into a media player and the media player froze on him, when he gave the flash drive back to me and i plugged it into my pc i could see all the movie info but no thumbnails or pictures and would not play any movies showing on it. i formatted it twice and this is where im at.

Do you have a virus protection on your flash drive? They can pick up viruses as well, so maybe it has a virus. Your friend may have don't something with the flash drive settings as well. I'm sure I could fix it but I'd have to monkey with it. I'm the type that can't explain how to do it, I just do it.....ya know? Anyway, I would really like this drive but I'm going to watch for awhile...good luck!

If you want to here is what you would do:

Right click to Format the Drive and select the Following options-

Capacity: 128GB (will be smaller since you don't get the Full GB per HDD/Flash Drive)

File System: FAT32 (This should always be default unless for some reason it's for something other than Windows)

Allocation unit size: 4096 bytes (Default for a 8GB Flash Drive should work for any size)

Restore Device Defaults (Could use this to see if it does do that what it says it does.)

Volume Label: 128GBGOLD or 128GBUSB (Or you could leave blank too)

Quick Format: UNCHECK if you want to format the Whole Drive (Note: This will take 15+ minutes but the quick format will be shorter if you use it)

Create MS DOS - Normally NOT used unless creating a Bootable Flash Drive.

I would have suggested that you take it back. IF the item was purchased no more than 30 days to 1 year ago it has a warranty via the vendor. Contact the vendor give the error date purchased and boom can get one possibly under warranty. May or may not require original receipt. I work on doing RMA's for a living so I know in's and out's on how to get things done :-)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that drive is probably a 4 GB flash drive. It has been flashed to look like a 128GB drive, but is a lot smaller. Here is a program that will give the you the total space on your drive. It's called H2testw.

If you dont want to purchase a tool for the drive repair, then the drive will need to be Defragmented FIRST then, reformatted to restore the drive to full capacity. Its basically a few corrupt files...or missplaced files that werent fully formatted.

Pretty easy fix for this issue. See kink I have added, with the repair tool and diagnostic of the error code. This CAN BE FIXEd and is worth doing to have a working 128GB jump Drive ;) Glad I could help ;)
