yes as a matter of fact i just checked them, and they are stamped with something, it looks like an indian headress, and lettering below it, i assume it is sterling, because that is what we were told when we bought them, but not positive, because my eyes are so darn bad, and i was using a magnifying glass, and my trifocals.....purrs..catspaw1955
