How much of a lip does it have over an actual phone. Like is this going to provide good screen protection?

I cannot anser this correctly because I don't own and iphone. It does appear to have a larger lip on the top where the screen would be, It measures right at 3/8 of an inch from inside to top lip. Hope this helps.
