The listing, Lot of 25 British Empire Stamps, 1920s to 1990s has ended.
"The sun never sets on the British Empire." At least that's what they said in the heyday of "the greatest empire that has been." Whenever Britain got the chance, it issued stamps for every swath of territory it controlled. This stamp lot represents the good, the bad and the ugly of the British Empire, ranging from India (where the current queen's father had the title of "Emperor") to the neglected Central American backwater of British Honduras. All stamps here are pre-independence. The oldest stamp is from Jamaica issued right after WWI while the most recent stamp hails from Hong Kong in the 1990s just before the handover to the Chinese. You get a lot of variety in between. Great for the collector, the history buff, or the Listian who longs for a more glorious imperial age. Thanks for checking out this auction!
