I have windows 7 and it plays; I really don't know about windows8, don't think it would make a difference as long as your computer is has 'Windows XP' thanks for asking, I'll look closer at the 'small print' to see if there are anymore specs. If there are, I will get back to you. Thanks

You are very welcome. I could not find any more info on the disc; very small printing and I just couldn't read it all. The back of the casing has complete download instruction tho. (not in fine print!!! :) 'Audrey'
