Description

The listing, Woodworkers Built the Statue of Liberty has ended.

Magazine article of little known facts about building the statue. Very interesting! Also would be good for a child's project at school. I found this when I was researchings for my 3 knitting and crocheting S of L projects. The two knitting projects are available as patterns but I haven't printed the picture of the almost as big as me filet crochet S of L I made. Someday I'll print that one too. I also made Barbie a Costume for it to go with Ken's Uncle Sam suit. Very interesting. This is only a single sheet of paper printed on both sides so I can send it in a regular envelope with one stamp. If you send me Paypal It will cost me 33 cents for a dollarwith Paypal. If you want to, you can send me a self addressed stamped envelope and I'll send it back to you. That costs you only 90 cents. If you paypal me a dollar I furnish the envelope and have to write your name and address. So it is about the same.

I'm watching it now. I'll be doing a speech on the Statue of Liberty a little later this year, so this could come in handy. Do you know how old it is, or what magazine this is from?

It was in a Woodworkers magazine. I think the title is on there somewhere. My rother had a subscription to it and I saw this article. I was doing research for my 2 knit stockings with the S of L on them and a filet crochet banner which I 't made into a pattern yet. The first time I went to N Y I did all the toutisty things so I climbed up into the crown. Good thing I did it then because now I can hardly wald. As far as the date it is about 40 some years ago. I don't have it right here or I could tell you more. You will probably win it without competition. My jerk of an ex once described a stamp as having a picture of a woman holding her arm up. of L was one. Mt. Rushmore, the Grande CFanyon and aq lot of others too. I did them all!!!! Nancy

Thanks Nancy - sounds like you've done a lot of good traveling! One of my future dream trips is to climb up into Liberty's crown. I will bid and do Paypal.

I only made two trips west from Chicago. One to Mr Rushmore which was a disaster. My mom wanted me to hacve someone with me so I was going to pick up my cousin Art in Wisconsin. I waited days for him but he had to mow the grass. . y I went alone. When I came back he still hadn't mowed the grawss. The secondhward through St Louis and then west to all the National Parks. That was in 1965. The trips east were business related. I took advantage of the trips to see other things. I am 75 and will be 76 in another week so I try not to go far any A ten mile trip to Walmart every week means a nap when I get home. I seldom get out of the car. AI send my son in to shop and I sit in the car and knit. But I drive. My mom had arthritis and she quit driving at about 65 and gave up her license. I did all the driving for her but I don't have arthritis so I am not about to give up driving yet. Nancy
