Description
The listing, 1942 to 1945 WWII OPA Ration Token RED POINT Roosevelt's Office Price Administration meat butter has ended.
These tokens were issued to the public consumers from 1942 until 1945. Rationing began following the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II in an effort to conserve. Offered is a single RED POINT OPA token. The two letter combination on this token is "UT"
Research indicates there were 30 varieties of these tokens based on two different letter combinations on each side of the number "1" (both sides of the token point are the same).
This dime sized 16 mm small compressed wood fiber pulp token or celluloid, as metals were in short supply for the war effort, would have been used for meat and butter purchases and exchange for rationing stamps. Decent condition.
