Have they been sanitized?

No, there has been no sanitizing. However, they were only gathered from clean areas...such as the floor outside of their cages and the side wires where the feathers would get stuck. I have tried in the past to sanitize feathers and have found that it destroyed the feather's integrity and turned it into a shredded looking mess. I simply throw away any feathers that are not in pristine, clean condition. I leave it up to the winning bidder to take the chance on cleaning the feathers in whatever way he/she chooses. All birds are strong and healthy, I have very particular standards.
