The listing, Ten (10) Recipes for Fibromyalgia Suffers has ended.
Ten (10) Recipes for Fibromyalgia Suffers as indicated by Lifescript. I don't have room here to add descriptions, but I will add all 10 in the comment section. If you have questions or can't see them, feel free to ask. The winning bid will receive ALL 10 recipes via inbox. I apologize, but do not do bidders remorse. I also apologize that there are only 9 images & not 10. For some reason one of them would not load. Thank you for viewing my auctions.
Questions & Comments
hello Christy, you've got great recipe auctions, I am bidding on two of them. I notice that you are new to Listia and wanted to share some info you probably don't know. Since you have bids already you won't be able to edit your auction description, but you can UPDATE. That's where you add the extra descriptions like what you wrote in the comment section (recipe descriptions). Eventually the comments will "disappear" after bidders write their comments, and some bidders don't bother to read the comments so they won't notice them. Instead if you write them up under Edit/Update, then they will always stay right under the auction description and every bidder will always be able to read them. Since you still have 18 more days left for this auction you will be able to add the above two comments under Edit/Update, then you go and "hide" the two comments. That will also give you more space for bidders to leave their comments, and you'll see that the recipe descriptions will never move from above. I hope this helps you with your future auctions too. If you have any questions pertaining to this, or anything else, I am happy to answer them! Good luck on your auctions! :D
Thank you for the info. Yes, I've oy been here approx 2 mths. I try to do the honest thing & adhere to the rules. I'll see if I can do what you suggested. Thanks for helping.
Sorry, Christy, forget about the "moving comments" part of my message.. I guess on my screen they "move" until I refreshed the page, lol... HOWEVER the part about writing your recipe descriptions under the Edit/Update instead of the comments is still correct. That's what that section is for. I will still help you around Listia if you have questions, if you want :D
I also suffer from fibro and thankful that others are becoming aware that this is indeed a serious illness that leads to other illnesses. We do need a support group to share things we have found to help us.
I think support groups are great ideas, did you see what I suggested to ej_the_dj? Maybe you two could create a support group on Facebook for Fibromyalgia sufferers. FB & Twitter gets used alot. I hate to see others suffer or hurt.
Not trying to be rude but I think you meant "sufferers". I'm ocd and apparently a grammar nazi so my apologies. I have Fibro btw and this is a very needed auction:)
Apparently, sloanwolf doesn't understand about fibromyalgia. He is right about one thing: it is easy to find good information about the kind of diet we need and the sort of foods that we should eat, for the ones of us that have fibro. However, as it has been permitted by Listia; I believe that it should be up to the individual if they want to bid on the recipes.
Christy, thank you very much for your kind words to me, above. I also fully believe that not near-enough is known by doctors and everybody to know how to work toward a cure for us. I wish there was a way to do more testing and find out how to help us; bc our symptoms are so varied, there is no 'set' answer for everyone that has it
Miss Christy, me thinks you is trained and licensed as a mental health counselor. You act like one. That is a good thing. =D
Thank you for your kind words, I do have a degree in Mental Health & have worked as a counselor. I agree, I think there are a lot of unknown things abt Fibromyalgia and other illnesses - hopefully one day Medical Science will develop a better way to treat it.
Christy, you communicate quite well. I am sorry that you suffer from all those disorders that you mentioned, too. Like I was saying, I don't think Mr. Sloanwolf understands about fibro. I don't think he was intentionally trying to be mean or rude. I'm saying in plain words that I don't believe he has fibro, or he wouldn't have said that. I do agree with you too, though. We don't tell him what to eat; therefore, since we all live in America, where we are free to choose, he should likewise, not be telling us what we should or should not eat. It's also, like we've been saying, no two people that have fibromyalgia are exactly alike with our symptoms. That's why there are no 'pat' answers for people that suffer fibro. It's also the reason some people with fibro can eat things that other fibro sufferers can't. For example: some people with fibromyalgia can eat pork, mushrooms, and whatever they want to their highest content. I cannot eat those things because as part of my fibromyalgia, those very food items trigger migraine headaches in me!!!-The doctor says that he believes that my fibromyalgia causes me to have migraines. A Blessed night to all, especially those people that don't understand fibromyalgia-and that includes my own Mother! =D
Thank you, Christy. I am sorry that you have neurofibromas-I don't even know what that is-and sorry that you have anorexia, and OCD. I can empathize with you; but like you said, our pain is different from each other, and that is really all I know. I know about anorexia and OCD, just not the neurofibromas. I'm sure that you get tired of explaining it and talking it to no end. So, if you don't want to talk about it, it's okay with me. My counselor makes me talk about my depression. In my real life, I focus on other things around me; and that is how I deal with my depression. If I stayed constantly focused on my depression, I'd probably be so debilitated that I couldn't function. I don't have room in my life for that. So, I just do other things, and let the depression be what it is. I do take meds for it; so, I'm okay. But, I get tired of talking about it, so I re-focus on other things. You have a Blessed night, too. =D
Hey Christy, I cannot fan right now, bc I'm short on fans to get it where I can fan again. However, I am Watching and Bidding. I have fibro myself; and I suffer quite a bit, even with my meds. Without my meds it's even worse. The doctor is working on finding out what is wrong with my daughter. He thinks she has a Vitamin B12 deficiency and I'm thinking that she possibly has fibro also. Many of her symptoms are the same as mine, with both of us having a few symptoms different from each other. So, I can't wait to see what you have to say! =D
I will fan you, just give me a few mins. I don't have fibromyalgia, so I can't talk abt or compare the symptoms b/c in all honesty I don't know. I do know many ppl do suffer from fibromyalgia. I found these recipes on LifeScript & they indicate that these are good for fibromyalgia suffers. My profession is mental health, not nutriciob or medicine, so I can't say with 100% certainty these are good or will benefit much, but they did come from LifeScript & they indicate they're helpful. Sorry guys, that's all I can offer. Hope this helps.
I don't & didn't think you were doing that - I just wanted to make clear to everyone. No apology is necessary b/c I don't think you did anything wrong. :)
Sloanwolf - I mean no disrespect either, I know Fibromyalgia is terrible & many suffer. However, no one is being forced to bid. I'm sure you meant well, but I don't appreciate your comment. I would not come on your page & say that I think ppl shouldn't have to bid on a certain auction.... Again, no disrespect meant to you.
My husband & I both have fibro, some days are fair, but other days, you don't or can't move without hurting ! It is real bad for my husband, no inc. & no way to get any meds ! We have tried everywhere ... just one medication is over $300 ! A lot of people don't know or understand ! If you eat the right foods, they will help you !
Gosh Teresa - I'm sorry. Reading some of the comments from fellow Listians on this auction makes me feel bad. I'll be honest, as I said above, I do not have fibromyalgia, but I know it's horrible & painful. I wish I could offer you all some words of medical advice or wisdom, but I'm not an MD. I understand abt insurance - it is expensive & some don't, can't - or refuse to understand. I do understand though, I didn't have it & couldn't afford it while working on my Masters degree. A lot of meds in general can be expensive. IDK how well these recipes will work, but LifeScript indicates they do, I thought it would be a good thing to share with those that do suffer. Special thoughts & prayers for you all.
Anyone with fibro with or without another disorder may feel free to contact me. Just message me over Listia email. I'd like to hear how other people deal with the pain and/or the other disorders they have. No one is exactly alike that have fibro; and I'd like to start like a 'support group' of sorts, on here because some people, like me do not have anyone to turn to talk about it that is a fellow or sister sufferer. I truly need someone or some people that I can relate to and they can relate-back to me, too. Someone who feels the same as I do-or close. Many people that I talk to that are close to me; while they are good listeners, they don't understand the pain because they don't have fibro. I would love to see my Listia inbox FULL of unanswered emails because they come pouring in, needing someone that can relate to them, too. I don't have a lot of answers; but the need for friends is great, also. We can listen to each other, and sympathize together because we DO understand each other's pain.
Christy_CA, thank you for allowing me to use your forum to get that out there. Any time I run across someone else who suffers from fibro, I get excited because I need someone that I can relate to and it's reciprocal, that they really do understand the pain, too. The catch-22 about it is, we look like perfectly 'normal' healthy human beings. We're not healthy at all! Our immune system has turned against us, so that we live in constant pain!
Oh, I read on WebMD.com that going to the chiropractor also, helps ppl that have fibro. I dearly love my chiropractor. I just wish that I could go more often!!! I also, read somewhere, that soft aerobics also helps people with fibro.
YW - you can just call me Christy if you want. :) I'm sorry to hear there are so many suffering from Fibro. I wish I could offer some words of wisdom or comfort. Like I said earlier though, I don't have Fibro, so I don't know what it's like - painful, I know that much. I think a support group would be a great idea - I was also going suggest you maybe even create one for Facebook. I have Neurofibromas (NF) & I'm Anorexic & OCD, so I know what it's like to suffer & hurt, only our stories are different. I joined groups for those on FB, it's helpful. I wish you all the very best & pray the pain eases or drs/med science can help find way to ease the pain. I hate to see others hurting. Sorry for any typos or grammatical errors, I'm on my iPod & it's difficult to see.
I also suffer with fibromyalgia. I had open heart surgery last Dec. 5th and it wasn't nothing compared with what I go through with fibro, My whole body hurts everywhere nothing you do helps, The chronic fatigue is so bad some days I can't function. And the stigma that goes along with having fibro is hurtful. Thanks for letting me vent a little. I'll fan you and watch your auction..
I am so sorry to hear you're facing these difficulties. I hope your health & well-being improve. I hate to think of anyone being sick or hurting. My grandpa on my Moms side before he passed in the 90s also had open heart surgery. I hope things improve for you - I will say prayers for & you can vent all you want. If you're not comfortable posting publicly, you can inbox me. I may not have all the "right" answers, but I'll listen. Thanks for stopping by, I will fan you back.

I also suffer from fibro but I found this listing accidently. It makles sense that some vitamins and minerals are more helpful than others. For those watching this auction, I have found that exercise helps me more than anything, so I stay busy with taekwondo 2 or 3 times per week. I know it seems counterintuitive to exercise when you hurt, but I have been doing it for 6 years now and swear by it. Anyone can feel free to contact me if they want more information.
She is correct, some vitims & minerals are better for your body & your body needs them, especially if you suffer certain health issues - so can excerise. Exercise is a healthy option in general. However - for those watching or bidding, I apologize, but I do not do bidders remorse. I don't mean to be rude, I've just been taken advantage of twice here & don't want it to happen again. Hope you understand.
I'm sorry to hear you suffer from fibromyalgia. I see FB posts from friends talking abt suffering the symptoms & pain. I wasn't trying to insinuate these will make the pain or symptoms go away, that's what I said according to LifeScript they are good. I'm not a nutritionist or MD, my professional background is skmethjng else, so I can't say for sure.
@Monica - thanks again for advice & suggestions. I think I may have been able too do the adit/update. My laptop is tore up, so I'm on a mobile device, I can't see as well from it. Hope it turned out ok. Thanks again. I appreciate the offer of help. :)
(5) Indian Mango Dal -- Description: More than 60 different types of dal (or dhal) are made across India. The basic dish contains lentils or other legumes flavored with aromatics & spices. Here, yellow lentils (toor dal) & mango are cooked in a more traditionally Southern India style - more souplike. Both ripe & underripe mango will work: less-ripe mango imparts a tart flavor & holds its shape, while riper mango breaks down more during cooking & gives the dish a sweeter taste. (6) Baby Beet Greens with Spicy Mediterranean Vinaigrette -- This unusual salad ties together earthy greens, sweet-tart cranberries, smoky cheese & crunchy croutons with a spicy-sweet dressing. Baby chard & beet greens have bright-colored ribs & veins, which give this salad a beautiful look. (7) Spicy Green Salad with Soy & Roasted Garlic Dressing -- Description: Piquant greens, such as mizuna & red mustard, are mellowed w/h a sweet-and-savory dressing that includes a whole head of roasted garlic. (8) Warm Green Bean Salad with Toasted Walnuts -- Description: This colourful salad makes a fine prelude to a hearty dinner. Walnut oil's distinctive flavour delivers a rich hit to the dressing. (9) Broccoli Rabe with Garlic & Anchovies - Description: Pungent broccoli rabe (or broccoli rape, broccoli raab or rapini) is tossed w/h a rich mixture of garlic, olive oil & anchovies in this easy side dish. (10). Turkey Cutlets with Rhubarb Chutney -- Try rhubarb in this tangy chutney w/h golden raisins & fresh ginger, served w/h turkey. You can also pair the sauce w/h grilled boneless, skinless chicken breasts or lean pork chops. Serve with: Whole-wheat couscous & steamed asparagus.
