Questions & Comments
Hi, fun auction! I believe the scissors-looking thing is actually to put "crimp" waves in the hair after being heated up. The hook obviously is a hook for ice, meat, and/or hay bales...the thing w 2 rings is some kind of bit for a bridle, finally who knows what !! the other thing is! I'll check back to see what it might turn out to be! Thanks!
Well, I think starsister got everything right. Hay used to be baled mainly with wire, you needed a hay hook so not to cut your hands (I know from experience). The other thing is for skimming the cream off the top of milk bottles "A one-ounce dipper specially devised for the purpose by Dr. Henry Dwight Chapin, may be had of the Cereo Co., Tappan, N. Y." - From a book published in 1902
