You're right, I enjoy the worn ones, too. I've been collecting coins since childhood. I'm NOT an investor - I enjoy coins for the history, artistry and connections to other people and areas. I'm partial to Large Cents and Bust Halves myself - the prices of these are getting out of hand, though. I also feel that circulated coins have more character since they have served their intended purpose which is to be used as money..
They have outgrown thier intended purpose, our forefathers would roll if they saw these prices although they are reflective of our economic position.A dollar in 1900 is now approx worth $50 today, if you DONT take into account the money thr country owes and prints daily, then we could say its more like 150 to one. I enjoy all coins,my 1st look at a rare coin was an 1964 Indian in xf,my grandma just happened to have save it from her childhood,I know NOW it was XF lol......god bless hre, where ever she is now......
I understand, its an investment for thier future! I will tell you just 4 years ago these coins sold for half of the book value they now hold and getting ever increasingly popular! Indian Cents transcend a few different interests,I dont have to tell you what they are but there are a few reasons I can see bidding briskly for these beautiful, untouched coins (Meaning thier color is all NATURAL,never been cleaned, ever!) I wish you luck and long healthy lives for your grandchildren, this auction is the potential impetus for many nice memories ahead of them! God Bless you & yours, Joseph

Yes, this is usually true UNTIL you try to buy an estate that has quality coins such as these,I even enjoy the worn ones...they speak of our countrys history...they are also an art form. The Indian cent is certainly my favorite coin as well, be well and thank you again for visiting! Joseph
However, I would NEVER like to go back to the Gilded Age but unfortunately, that's the way we seem to be headed - a few very rich people and everybody else being very poor.
My first coin purchase was in 1970 - an 1853 large cent in VF. I still have it today.
