If it has been activated and it's similar to the magic jack that means this device has to have the Service email/password transferred to the new user. If it has service that comes with the device for 1 year as magic jack does then the # and rest of the service will go to the new user. I would check to see the results of giving / getting this item to make sure I am correct tho. Otherwise check with NetTalk's Online/Phone support about it.
